Relegation Battle

Their are relegation battles elswhere in the world besides England, namely France! Whoo hoo, let me tell you all about it. Yes, Paris St Germain got a much needed three points this weekend with a win against Lens. That win brings them out of the relegation zone by one point.

Struggling Paris St Germain snatched an important 2-1 victory at Racing Lens to move out of the Ligue 1 relegation zone on Sunday. Winger Amara Diane put the Parisians in front just two minutes into the match and defender Sylvain Armand netted a header in the 72nd to seal PSG's victory and end a run of four consecutive defeats. Lens pulled one back just after the break when PSG sweeper David Rozenhal deflected a free-kick by playmaker Olivier Monterrubio in his net. This badly-needed success lifted PSG from bottom to 17th, one place and one point above the relegation zone, while Lens remain second on 49 points from 30 matches. The team from the capital have 31 points, one more than 18th-placed Sedan who clinched a lucky 1-0 victory at Nantes earlier in the day.
