Here He Goes Again
Rafa Benitez has called for the Premier League to start looking out for it's star players after Fernando Torres was whacked to pieces yesterday during the Carling Cup match against Reading. He does have a point. The referee let pretty much everything go against Torres the other day.

Keep Walking, Nothing to See Here...
Martin Jol has suggested that getting rid of him now would be a step in the wrong direction for Tottenham Hotspur. I think they should give him a drug test.

TH & TH14
Tommy Hillfiger and Thierry Henry have linked up and produced a pretty slick trench and (what looks like) a tweed ball. Both are hot and available at Collette.

New Gaffer at Chelsea?
Roman Abromovich has reportedly offered the Chelsea top spot to Holland Legend, Marco VanBasten. Something tells me, he wouldn't want to put up with the interference Roman would place upon him. We could be wrong, but we are usually not.
UPDATE: Denied

Carling Cup
After sitting on the pine for the past two matches, our star striker, Fernando Torres earned himself his first hat-trick in a Liverpool kit today. Lovely one it was too! Thanks for putting him in Rafa!

Arsenal have now won seven in a row after playing a youthful second team against a full strength Newcastle.

Holy Smokes!
Jose Mourinho has left Chelsea Football Club as their relationship had 'broken down'. Farewell, old boy, it's been a good ride.
UPDATE: It seems Jose will be paid severance for his services in the neighbourhood of a cool £25M. Not too shabby.

Hmmm?
I, personally cannot understand how the lineup of C. Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Carlitos Tevez will not work. Once these lads learn how each other thinks...LOOK OUT...Roma, Lisbon, and Kiev! It could get UGLY, but Gorgeous!

Hey Chubby Fucker...
Now that I have your crooked eared attention, let me tell you to piss off! Maybe, you should concentrate on being on the better end of a 1-0 victory with Derby before you shout your mouth off about our Rafa? Never thought of that? Eh, doesn't surprise me.

How to Save a Sinking Ship.
Why, you ignore the problem and do absolutely NOTHING of course! Tottenham Hotspur gaffer, Martin Jol, has reportedly been given another month to try and revive his floundering team. The players are also rallying behind the manager who is firmly in the cross-hairs.

Good Deal?
Inter are increasing their interest in Chelsea's bench by upping their ante in a bid for Michael Ballack. They are offering Adriano in the deal as well. That could come in handy during the Africa Cup of Nations with Drogba, Essien and Kalou out on national duty.

We Were Thinking the Same Thing...
Here is a question for you Steve...What do you do now? Now that Emile Heskey, Gareth Barry, SWP and Micah Richard all did their jobs well the other day? Much better than recent star studded sides anyhow. We, the editors at large, at FootballRoundtable were throwing this question around the other day. Apparently, we are not the only 'smarties' running around these days. The highly regarded British Tabloid, The Mirror, was also wondering. Here is what they had to say.

Clink!
Tottenham and France defender, Pascal Chimbona was locked up over the weekend in a corruption scandal.
Meanwhile, gaffer in the headlights, Martin Jol says his rubbish squad is not affected by this mumbo jumbo.
"Pascal trained Monday and Tuesday, yesterday he was off so there is no issue. He will train today, so for me there's no problem."
Nope, nothing to see here, move right along.

Covert Chinese Soft Porn?
This is what the Daily Mirror had to say about the Danish Women's World Cup squad being secretly filmed at their Chinese hotel. Imagine what you would hear if this happened in Europe or the US?
'Denmark officials have asked FIFA to probe security arrangements at the Women's World Cup after finding Chinese men covertly filming a team "tactical session" from behind a mirror at their hotel in Wuhan.'

Looks Like 'The Boxer' was in Trouble
Corner flag sparrer, Tim Cahill, has been arrested after being accused of sexual assault. The alleged victim has since withdrew her complaint. Was this another money grubbing attempt at a footballer? I think so.

Damn!
If I had won the Mega Millions lottery, I was going to swoop in for Queens Park Rangers. Since that didn't happen, I'm happy to see the F1 bosses came in and took care of business.
'Formula One chiefs Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore yesterday completed their £30million rescue of struggling Championship club Queens Park Rangers.'
I will now set my sights on Nottingham Forrest!

Welcome to the Premiership
Liverpool hammered Derby today 6-0! Xabi Alonso was on target twice and was outstanding in the midfield today. Fernando Torres also bagged two along with other new boys Babel and Veronin also contributing to the victory and the three points.
This is the first time Rafa Benitez has had Liverpool at the top of the league since he took over. The lads are looking good Rafa, keep it up!
